6/29/2008 - I'm in Scotland (Marie that is) visiting with my parents. If you haven't seen the home page with the ancient pigeon loft from Scotland, go now to review the pictures. From what I have seen thus far, many of the old castles maintained their own lofts. They were called Dovecots and were used mainly for meat, although I imagine they may have used them as "couriers" also.
6/17/2008 - Picked up birds at High Point Pigeon and JEDDS in Southern California this past weekend. Had an interesting trip home. The lug bolts on the drivers side rear wheel sheared off and the wheel took a trip without the truck, while the truck was trying to go on only three wheels. Miraculously (especially due to the amount of traffic) Ron was able to safely steer the truck to the shoulder of the road (after taking three lanes to bring it under control) with absolutely no injuries to anything other than the truck! We had a nice ride home in a tow truck with the birds and our dog.
6/11/2008 - Birds are flying around loft. A lot of windy days so flying has been limited. Starting to warm up.
